Do Not Depend on the Guru - Part One

Surrender and dependency are two very different things. Some devotees and disciples are advised to be close to the Guru to benefit from His or Her powerhouse vibration. There is no question that the Guru is like a generator of electricity that could light up cities and burn incarnations of karmas for you. And devotees can simply tune in and plug-in. Nice and easy, isn't it? If your Guru is an avatar, then are you actually ready for a Babaji level "Jump off the cliff and die" moment? Extremely few. One is already a LOT. He NEVER told him, "Don't worry son, I can put you back into pieces after your brains scatter on the rocks". So let's not be too ambitious begging Babaji to be our Guru. It's so easy to say "I surrender", but can we do what Abraham did? Tie up his beloved son and offer to the fire? No one gave him a hope of a sheep coming unexpectedly the last minute! You'd be on your knees crying to God for help instead of tying up your son to be barbecued on top of a mountain. Whatever happened to "Thy Will Be Done?" Thrown rolling down the cliff, ain't it? Well two things, one, it is very difficult to be around a Guru in flesh who is constantly chiseling you with leelas (Divine Play). The dispeller of darkness, can literally beat tamas (laziness) out of you and rip you apart your attachments. Zip! Ouch. Can your ego handle that? You won't see it coming because it happens only when you are not in a "ready to fight" stance. It even happens when you are sleeping. Both while your eyes are open wide and when you are even asleep. They won't even spare you in the dream world! There, your unconscious desires cannot be supressed nor repressed! You'll easily get caught even without a CCTV camera right handed. He or She will worl through the most unexpected people and circumstances. He is smart enough not to use the same form. LOL! To be honest, there are countless selfish disciples. They want to hang around the Guru, thinking they will get blessings, burn their karmas, protect their families etc. Some even ride on the shoulders of giants to feel so big, because their Guru is BIG. Users! But the humble compassionate and merciful Guru, will fulfil material and egoic desires of the disciples again and again, if only one day, they will ask for what He truly came to deliver and provide. God is toughest to His/Her closest servants. And when you come to the world as His Son, guess what you get? Swallow the karmas of the world by being whipped and bled to exhaustion. Such is the life of Christ. "Oh Gurudev! Bless me! Bless my family! Give me this! Give me that!" I mean hello? What did you give your Guru? Headaches. That's for sure. Take, take and take some more! Please burn my karmas and take my ailments. The Guru will oblige. What did you give in return? A piece of dried coconut while you hang on to your riches with your dear life! I have seen many devotees easily dish millions to hospitals and pharmaceuticals, but watch their Gurus struggle in their sevas and books and ashrams. When the Guru asks for dakshinas to ease impending harsh karmic payments or assist in fulfilling your endless desires, the devotees go around saying "He wants only money from us!". Selfish bastards. Go shop for shoes and stay away from Gurus then! They use it for seva for your sake. They don't buy perfumes with it. You wouldn't need it as much, if you do your seva regularly, isn't it? Their guru is suffering of cancer or whatever illness he or she took from you, and all you did was offer a coconut, demand and feel so entitled to His/Her grace? The true gurus often get shamed by the very people They heal. They did this to Jesus! He made them see by healing their blindness and make them walk, only to watch them throw stones at him when He was wanted by the Pontius Pilate. My Guru reprimanded me for reprimanding His disciples. He told me, I had no right to interfere. He is very very patient with their doubts. I roll my eyes over and again yet I am truly humbled by His humility. They let him worship his unrecognisable statue of previous lifetimes to keep attention away from Himself. He doesn't mock devotees who, even beside him, would procure material elements for protection. I could laugh instead, but then I was deeply saddened and disgusted by their lack of faith. It's like you work so hard to protect your Guru and yet you asked Him to protect you, your family and the planet. That's cray. Or some work so hard to promote their Guru thinking he needs fame and wealth. Stop projecting, please. My point being is, be with the Guru with the intention to serve the Guru. And I beg you, not the other way around. Do your sadhana well, so you may support his mission better by being pure enough that your Guru can work through you. The planet is going through a major transition now. Be a good team player, not someone in line to be served. Be a part of the service team. Some serve the Guru"s feet knowing that serving the Guru is like serving the world ten thousand times. True. But for what intention? Don't easily go flaunting your eligibility with the Guru. For all you know, it's another trap for your ego. His tricks are endless. And prepare for it to be smashed anytime. Don't worry, it's all out of Love Only to wash us up clean. To have the chance to serve the Guru is to be blessed like nothing you have ever known. But to even think of the benefits for you and your small family - That's still very selfish, beta. Serve out of selfless Love and do not dare question nor blame your Guru for stripping you clean out of all your possessions or loved ones. You made the choice (just seems like) to go near the fire. Expect to be burned. Never bark or bite your Guru, even when you are in deep pain from the purification that is happening in your life. You don't have enough karmic investments to ward off the grave consequences of that. Do NOT attack at all cost. Here is the time to be selfish. Save yourself from the very heavy karma of attacking true Masters. This reminds me of a couple of friends who told me, "I am taking my rudrakshas out of my neck, Mataji. I would never get rich like this. (Laughs!) We can talk about Surrender in Part Two.
