Warming Up To The New Job

Friday
Part of my mind is with my daughter who is alone at home with her "ayah"/"yaya".
The day ended late yesterday with the ELT ( Executive Leaders Team) meeting. It's a place where I feel there is so much I need to learn and to know - in simple words, it's a place where I feel ignorant (ha,ha!).
Today it was nice meeting Mar from a school in The Netherlands (Holland) who is working on introducing MYP to the higher level grades. She asked about possible struggles and challenges that she may encounter along the way and I was able to share with her mine and my thoughts of introducing "CHANGE" to colleagues. Basic lines - leadership using tools such as people empowerment, compassion, value of catharsis, non-prescriptive approach, availability, humility and openness.
My Classes are doing okay. I feel I could still spend more time preparing for it. But with the Regional Office coming from Singapore for a consultation visit- it takes a lot of prep time for me.
Today, I spent a lot of time with Elena, our amazing civic oriented German volunteer, brainstorming on Community and Service issues and how to develop it further. I was also scouting for a Community and Service Leader for our Areas of Intercation. It just dawned into me, that this area is a beautiful and powerful place for real education of the heart to happen.
