These Past Two Days..

These past two days have been intensely productive and powerful. I am beginning to see the benefits of the job reponsibility.
I have been working closely with an ESL teacher/ Head of Department on Task Specific Rubrics and with Science teachers/ Head of Dpeartment on the same thing as well as on Monitoring of assessment samples.
I enjoyed scaffolding them not only on the skills required in coming up with guiding them on rubrics for easy reaching of success on the students side but as well as easy marking on the teacher's side.
Though all these have been a lot of hard work, even finding resources for them and samples to help them in their classes felt rewarding.
This discussion I just had in the Staff lounge with a Physics teacher was very rewarding as we explored together not only the bands and their descriptors and what they meant but also on my favorite areas like putting content into context through Areas of Interaction, especially on the Approaches To learning.
I had a very interesting conversation during lunch today with a new parent/volunteer teacher here whose husband is an Asian religion professor and a sanskritist.
Yesterday felt amazingly rich when I had to be in a team of leaders "interviewing" / getting to know the Principal applicants ( Australian ( man )and American ( woman )for next semester in the school. It was fantastic to see how they presented themselves or how they did not need to present themselves. They were in the flow with confidence, spoke with loud or quiet convictions and with a relaxed sense of humor.
This new job which I so then resented is slowly presenting its values to me....
